Definition
What does AHAAN mean?
- Ahaan
- Ahaan is an independent Bollywood film on Netflix India released on 19 March 2021 starring Abuli Mamaji, Arif Zakaria, Niharika Singh, Rajit Kapur and Plabita Borthakur. This film is based on mental health issues. Ahaan is written & directed by Nikhil Pherwani.Abuli Mamaji played the lead role of Ahaan and Arif Zakaria played Ozzy. Significant characters were Niharika Singh (Anu), Plabita Borthakur (Onella), Shilpa Mehta also known as Ahaan's Mother, Kaizaad Kotwaal otherwise known as Ahaan's Father , Rajit Kapur as Psychologist, Haresh Raut as Hari, The Servant), Sonali Sachdev as Mrs. Nair.Sreeparna Sengupta of Times of India wrote, ‘Nikhil Pherwani, who has scripted and directed ‘Ahaan’, infuses the film’s narrative with a warm energy, even as he brings to light the life, limitations and aspirations of a person with Down Syndrome. And to the filmmaker’s credit, he does this without getting preachy and with a lot of empathy. What really sets ‘Ahaan’ apart is the casting – as it features a Down Syndrome actor, Abuli Mamaji, to represent his own, a first for a Hindi film.’
